About
Mrs. Lahman
My name is Trina Lahman and I began my teaching career by teaching full-day Kindergarten in my home state of NY. Five years later, I was fortunate enough to land at Franklin Township School in Hunterdon County, NJ. I have loved being a reading specialist and primary classroom teacher at FTS since September 1997. I reside in Pennsylvania with my husband and two teenage boys. We adopted our first puppy in April 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic! He is a Cavapoo and his name is Biscuit. He helped us get through quarantine. As a family, we love hiking, exploring the outdoors, riding bikes, and watching movies (anything Marvel). My youngest son is in his senior year of high school and just earned his Eagle in Scouts. He is headed to RIT in the fall to study film and animation. My oldest son is a drummer in his band, Just Say When, as well as a sophomore in college. He is headed to Penn State in the fall.

What is a Reading Specialist & Interventionist?
Reading Specialists & Interventionists work with specific children who have been identified as needing more literacy support than can be provided by the classroom teacher. I design interventions tailored to students' needs. Small group or one-to-one instruction is extremely beneficial for students who may feel lost in whole-group settings. I help students develop proficient reading and writing skills that will contribute to their academic growth.
